A "Must Have" for History Lovers,Lawyers & Law Students Recitationes in Elementa Iuris Civilis Secundum Ordinem Institutionum. Recitationes in Elementa Iuris Civilis Secundum Ordinem Institutionum (Recitation of the Elements According to the Order of the Civil Law Institutes) by Io. Christ. Gottl. Heineccii (Johann Christian Gottlieb Heineccius (1718-1791)).This is a great 230-year-old book would be a great edition to a library of Latin books, 18th Century books, attorneys, judges, law students, etc.The book was printed in 1789 in what was then Breslau, Prussia - now Warclaw, Poland - by Friedrich Korn.
The book is very tight. and has had no markings in the text or even the edges. That is expected some roughing to edge but the still is in very good condition.
Roman civil law is still a required course in most law schools. The uncut edges would also lead to the conclusion that the book was originally for study or work -- not a "shelf book."Heineccius was a jurist in Prussia and Korn was a well-known publisher during the period. The book is 624 pages and measures approx. 9.5" x 5.75".
