About This Item
London: for Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme and Brown, 1814. Octavo. Improved with many additions and observation by Hutton. Four Volumes in Two, Four Title pages, 98 plates on 97 leaves(some folding) with 4 manuscript pages bound in(mathematical) some plates hand colored(most likely by previous owner?) Hutton was an English mathematician and surveyo. He was a professor of mathematics at the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich and he was elected a Foreign Honorary Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Bound in 3/4 maroon polished calf over marbled paper covered boards, raised bands with compartments lettered and decorated in gilt, joints and corners rubbed, some toning or scattered foxing to plates, text clean. A good set of this scarce work.
