Pages are moderately tanned and foxed throughout. Occasional thumb-marking present. Slight cracking to front hinge. Binding remains firm. Boards have moderate edge wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Soft crushing to spine ends. Scuffing and light marking overall. Brown marking and rubbing to paper, with scuffing to edges. Light tanning to spine and edges. Book is slightly bowed.

Pages are moderately tanned and foxed throughout, heavier at end-papers, paste-downs and text-block edges. Ex Libris plate of 'Lady Hunleke' to front pastedown. Minor pencil marking to front free end-paper. Binding remains firm with visible thread in places. Boards have heavy edge-wear with bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and rub wear all over. Loss to leather on all sides. Spine gilt and decoration is worn. Top edge of text block is dust marked.

London: J. Walker, 1809. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 24mo - over 5 - 5¾" tall. 'Translated by a Lady, from the German of Mr. C.C. Sturm. Edition and printing not known. Very small - 5" x 3". In very good minus brown leather with gilt ruled edges beside blind stamped ornate pattern front and back, with gilt titles, decoration and six horizontal gilt bands. The covers are tight and straight and clean though the leather is a little faded. The corners are a little bumped; tail spine end is chipped.. Lightly tanned and foxed end papers with a few marks; small piece cut out of top edge of front free end paper. Tanned cut edges with marble pattern beneath. The text block is tightly bound, slightly tanned and with some light foxing; the end pages are rather more tanned and foxed. Frontispiece with tissue guard of lady lying on bed; pastoral scene on title page. Good condition.Name of previous owner on a Prelim. Rare. Without jacket.

Bound in brown leather, gilt rules and decoration on spine, gilt titled on maroon leather spine label. Cover is overall very good, edges worn, board showing at corners and front edge, a few scuffs to rear cover and spine label.
