Book is tight, square, and unmarked but for a former owner name penciled on FFFP. Book Condition: Good; light wear to tips, head, and tail; small spot of wear through on rear edge of spine. No DJ. Green cloth boards and spine with bright gilt lettering on the front page. Interior hinges are not split; external joints are not torn; no splay. Fold-out glassine eye chart is present and strongly attached in binding. 275 pp 8vo. This book was written mostly for ophthalmology students (optometry was not yet a profession) in order to enable them to diagnose errors of refraction accurately, and to prescribe suitable glasses for their correction. Covers the basics of refractive errors without the use of medications which would be suitable for jewelers and opticians of the day. A clean very presentable copy.
