Seattle: REI, 1988. First Edition . Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 1988 FIRST PRINTING OF THE FIRST EDITION (RARE Hardcover version). Original dark green hardcover boards with gilt lettering front and spine. Very few hardcover examples of this book were produced, probably under 100 copies. Even the paperback version of the first edition is very uncommon. No dust jacket was ever produced for the hardcover version. The book has rubbed corner tips, some light scuffing to rear cover, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, a faint grubby mark on verso of title page, much smaller but similar spots on three other preliminary pages, no other marks on any pages, solid binding, no foxing, solid binding. The book measures 236mm tall x 157mm and has 199 pages + 64 unnumbered pages of b/w photos & illustrations. PHOTOS ARE OF THE ACTUAL BOOK BEING OFFERED.
