Boston: Ticknor and Fields, 1867. First Edition. Small Octavo. 107 pages.Illustrated. Her poems are mostly highly devotional. Later she wrote on some women's issues but after receiving extensive criticism, she retreated to more day-to-day topics. This item was issued in a small print run of only 2,046 copies which is why first issues are relatively uncommon. Bound in green cloth over beveled boards, central title gilt within a gilt decorative frame, spine and top edge gilt, yellow endpapers A fine bright copy without names or bookplates. [BAL 19443].
