Full polished calf, the backs richly gilt with red and green morocco labels lettered in gilt, marbled end papers, top edges gilt, gilt inner dentelles, frontispiece engraved portrait Vol. I. Near Fine, scant rubbing to boards, a quite lovely set. With 2 pp. typed scholar's notes on Hearne's biography, one page tipped at front end page Vol. I, the other page laid in. Small seller's label rear end pages. Thomas Hearne (1678 -1735) was an English historian and antiquarian whose editions of English medieval chronicles were important sources for later historians.. Second Edition, Enlarged. Full Calf. Near Fine/No Jacket, As Issued. Illus. by Jacket- E McKnight- Kauffer. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
