About This Item
A striking edition of Grahame's most famous short story, "The Reluctant Dragon," first published in 1898. The story paved the way for 20th-century English fantasies depicting dragons as friendly, rather than hostile. Hague is particularly known for his dragon drawings. 10'' x 8''. Original brown boards. Original unclipped ($11.50) color pictorial dust jacket. Illustrated in color. 42 pages. Signed by Hague to verso of half-title, with a large drawing of a dragon. Jacket with mild rubbing to rear, tiny spot of wear to top of front joint. Clean and tight.
