About This Item

Shrewsbury: Airlife Publishing, 1997. A very good clean tight copy in similar, unclipped dustwrapper of this hard-cover book. The WW1 diaries and letters of Norman Ellison, edited by David R Lewis. The author served in the 6th (Rifle) Battalion, Kings Liverpool Regiment from 1914 onwards, serving in Belgium and France in 1915-17 before being invalided Home. The diaries were never published, but he thought of doing so in the late 1920s, and wrote to many people asking whether or not to do so. These letters are also printed in the book. In later life he was quite well-known as the nature expert ''Nomad'' on BBC radio programme ''Childrens Hour''. 158pp, numerous b&w illustrations.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
