Pre-Civil War Government 1857 publication in blind embossed brown cover boards, light fading to title gilt on spine, 2" split in lower outer edge of spine on the front cover edge, outstanding period inscription on front FEP, has 50 wood cut illustrations preceding Title page which includes 3 chromoliths (Arden Horses, South Down Sheep and Peabody's new Haut Bois Strawberry) animal illustrations and maps, smaller illustrations thru out text, 536 pages, inner hinges intact, foxing and age toning in some inner locations illustrations are clean
