Washington: Blair and Rives, 1845. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. Unusually nice copy of the House of Representatives version of the Fremont report. 1845 first printing. Blind stamped cloth with gilt lettered spine.Fold out map and large Preuss map in rear pocket both in very good condition. Very good condition with only a small tear to top of spine. Important report which had a far reaching impact on later emigration to the west. Co-authored by his wife Jesse, Fremont's account was one of the most popular and influential of its kind. By providing the first accurate information on the geographical routes through the Rocky Mountains to California and paved the way for the gold rush influx. Wagner-Camp 115, Howes F-370.
