Washington, DC: Government Printing Office, 1870. Hardcover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, original brown cloth boards with gilt text and design on spine. Exterior shows spotting and soiling with the dampstain to the upper right corner of the front board. Edges and corners also show bumps and wear some being prominent. Internal binding is good as far as no hinge issues being present and text pages are tight. The biggest problem with the interior (and the reason for the low condition grade of "fair") is that one of the foldout plates located at page 90 of the chapter entitled Production of Beet-Root Sugar and Alcohol is completely torn near the hinge area and is detached but present. Remaining pages are okay except for some minor creases.
