Royal 8vo (25cm). pp. xxvi, 111; xxiv, 117, [2]. Very Good. Spine darkened to navy blue, light cap crushing and minor board nicks, period Astronomical Library bookplates and printer front pastedowns. Sir Thomas Maclear resigned directorship in Spring 1870. On 4 June 1870 Edward James Stone was appointed "Her Majesty's Astronomer at the Cape". Transit-circle observations by Thomas and George Maclear, William Mann, George Christie; Donati's Comet observations were reported in Memoirs RAS (Vol.29). Instrumental correction tables (both years), R.A. Stars (both years), Star Catalogue of concluded mean R.A and mean N.P.D. (both years), R.A. and N.P.D. of the Sun, Moon and Planets (1860); R.A. Moon's Limb and of Moon-culminating stars together with occultations of stars (both years) ..
