New York: Thomas Yoseloff, 1956. Hardcover, green cloth lettered in black on spine, in non price-clipped dust-jacket. Jacket protected by mylar covers. 752pp., Being for the most part contributions by Union and Conferate officers. Based upon "The Century War Series". Edited by Robert Underwood Johnson and Clarence Clough, of the editorial staff of "The Century Magazine". A facsimile printing of the third volume of the original four voulme set. The unabridged text is copiously illustrated with all the illustrations and maps from the original printing. First edition thus, printed as 'the popular edition'. No previous owneship marks. Dust-jacket protected by mylar covers. Rear board moderately stained and soiled. Still an attractive shelf-appearance as dust-jakcet obscures soiling. Dust-jacket is complete with no tears or chips and no evidence of soiling. A square, solid, internally clean copy. A near very good copy in a very good+ dust-jacket. . First Edition Thus. Hardcover. Near Very Good/Very Good+. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
