Single Huge Sheet Folded In Two Into Four 19 3/4" X 13" Pages, Printed On Front Cover Only In Black Ink With Red And Orange Decorations. Rear Cover Shows Colophon Indicating Printing By John Henry Nash In 1925 For Ernest Dawson. Slight Browning, No Tears Or Chips Or Marks. With The Plain Manila Folder With String Tie, Internal Sheet Of Card Reinforcement, Name Thomas F Andrews In Red Ink; Thomas F. Andrews Was Research Historian In Special Collections At Azusa Pacific University And Served As Executive, And Was Also An Author. Coolbrith's Poem "California" Had Been Previously Published By Nash In 1918. The Author Was A Niece Of The Mormon Prophet Joseph Smith. She Was Bret Harte's Assistant When He Was Editor Of The Overland Monthly In 1869-1870, And Her Poem "California" Was Read At The Founding Ceremony For The University Of California In 1869. She Became A Writer, Publishing Her First Volume Of Verse In 1881. She Later Became Librarian Of The Oakland Free Library. She Was California's First Poet Laureate, The Only Woman Elected To Membership In The Bohemian Club, And A Beloved California Literary Figure. Light Horizontal Fold Across Center, No Tears Or Chips Or Marks Or Stains But Some Areas Of Darkening To Last Page On Which The Colophon Is Printed.
