Hendel gives firsthand accounts of the 1946 revolution and massacre, ruthless politics and murders, the land reform of 1952, notorious Nazi Klaus Barbie who worked at Hendel's saw mill in Bolivia, the murder of Hans Ertl's daughter when she tried to kidnap Barbie, the Che Guevara execution, the disappearances in Argentina during the 1970s and the Bolivia connection, author's friends: Hans Ertl, french novelist Romain Gary, the famous archaeologist Arturo Posnansky, the coca economy of Bolivia, some of the author's earlier life in Austria including his releasing of a hot air balloon with a large anti-Nazi flag over a crowded stadium in Vienna, other anti-Nazi activity.
