Harper & Brothers, Publishing, New York, 1876. Book condition: Good+, First Edition. 123 pp plus four pages other Centennial Readings published by Harper & Brothers, New York. Text slightly tanned typical of age, clean and unmarked. Former owner attribution on front free endpapers. Front free endpaper has dark discoloration triangle caused by a piece of newsprint left in book. Illustrated throughout with b/w etchings and drawings. This title is very rare. Unable to locate existence of any other copies for comparison.

1928. Softcover. Very good. 4" x 9" (folded), [16] pp, with illustrations from photographs, double-page "Relief Map of the North-of-Bay Country." One leaf loose from staples, otherwise very good. A scarce and attractive brochure describing outdoor recreational opportunities accessible via the routes of the Golden Gate Ferry Company and the Vallejo-San Francisco Ferry (Monticello Steamship Co.). Written by John F. Greathead of the Trail & Mountain Club, Vallejo, the brochure provides 1928 ferry schedules and describes hikes to Mount Veeder Volcanic Crated, Lokoya Lodge, Green Valley Falls, Atlas Peak, Wooden Valley, Sulphur Springs Mountain and Lake Hermann, Mount Vaca, The Calistoga Geyser and Petrified Forest, Bald Mountain, Alpine Lake, and the North Shore of the Golden Gate. OCLC lists one copy of a similar 1927 brochure and no copies of this 1928 edition.

L'un des 300 exemplaires sur Lana (seul papier après 5 sur Japon et 101 sur Arches, et avant 594 sur vélin) : n° 380. Très bel exemplaire, malgré dos un peu fané. (Monod, 10996 - dont la description semble être une gigantesque coquille).

First edition hardcover. 1866, New York. Condition is Very Good: Library sticker on spine, pencil note on copyright page, no other library markings. Some pencil notes on front blank, none elsewhere. Occasional foxing in text. Binding is sound. Light general wear to boards. A nice copy of an uncommon book. Author aims to offend as many people as possible and succeeds. Paginates: blanks, frontis, 312, [2], blanks, plus 11 unpaginated plates. Extremely obscure item. Please see images of the book you will receive. Notes: Author is brother of Samuel Comstock - infamous mutineer of the whaleship Globe. Such a lovely family. More notes: Satire aimed at (?) Charles Farrar Browne who was a humorist working under the name Artemus Ward. Browne (Ward) was reportedly a favorite of Abraham Lincoln.
