With inscription and drawing from Christopher Fry. First edition. Illustrated throughout with frontispiece and forty-eight plates, with many in-text drawings. Collated complete. A biographical sketch of Rex Whistler, a British artist, who painted murals and society portraits, and designed theatrical costumes, with examples of his work. Written by his brother, Sir Alan Charles Laurence Whistler, a British glass engraver and poet who was the first recipient of the King's Gold Medal for Poetry. With an inscription and drawing to the front endpaper by Christopher Fry, an English poet and playwright considered a major force in theatre during the 1940s and 1950s. In the original green cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear and minor rubbing to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Ink inscription to the front endpaper. Very Good Indeed
