Fairfax, Virginia: The Firearms Classics Library of The Nation Rifle Association, 1995. Special Collector's Edition. Fine in full black leather pigskin covered boards with gilt text and decorations between five raised bands on the spine and with gilt borders and decorations on the front and rear boards. The end sheets are silk, all edges of the text block are gilt and there is a silk placement ribbon sewn-in at the head of the spine. A small quarto measuring 10 1/2" by 8". 641 pages of text including an index, an index of illustrations, appendices and illustrated throughout with line drawings, steel engravings and reproductions of photographs. A special, facsimile reprint of the first edition of this title which was originally printed in New York in 1938 by William Morrow and Company. An extremely handsome, tight, clean and crisp copy with no prior owner's marks, notations or book plates.
