Dark pink coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured decoration and titles to the front panel and back strip. A humorous book from the 1930s, based on an early film. The book is showing age and use. Softening of the back strip edges with rubbing of the book edges and panels. Light tanning of the text block edges and pages. The top left hand corner of the front paste-down has not been cleanly cut in the production and has torn away the top right hand corner of the free front end page – the piece is still attached to the paste-down. Previous owners name to the front paste-down. There have been a few pages in the book that have not been cleanly cut, and, again needed to be torn to be read, and, consequently the top text edge is a little rough looking. NY: A.L. Burt, 1929. First. Hard Cover. Yes. First edition. Dark maroon cloth stamped in gilt. Illustrated with scenes from the Radio Pictures film starring Bebe Daniels and John Boles. The movie version of Flo Ziegfeld's operetta, billed as "Ziegfield's fabulous all-talking, all-singing super screen spectacular". Guy Botlton wrote the screenplay. This Western-musical-romance was one of the first talkies and the final half hour was shot in rudimentary color. A tight example, gilt lettering somewhat darkened especially on the spine. In the scarce original color illustrated dust jacket with significant chips to the head and foot of the spine and a smaller chip lower front corner and smaller still at the top corner.
