About This Item

[Salt Lake City]: Groundhog Records, 1977. 1/1000. 45 rpm 7" record. Mint. Black vinyl with brown printed label. In original plain paper sleeve that shows minor age toning. Country & Western single from the Will Bagley outfit, 'Thunder & Roses' - this is from the honky-tonk years that preceded his celebrated career as a historian. Will Bagley (1950-2021) wrote and edited more than twenty books on overland emigration, frontier violence, railroads, mining, and the Mormons. He lectured widely and had appeared in more than a dozen films, including the American Experience episode of the ‘The Mormons' on PBS. He was one of the finest historians of the postwar period and a legend. R.I.P.
