This book is about the James River which rises at Iron Gate in the Virginia mountains and flows through 335 miles of shoreline to the Chesapeake bay and the ocean and site of the earliest English settlements in the new world at Jamestown Island in 1607; illustrated with photographic interpretation by John Theilgard with 16 b/w phototypes on semi-gloss paper plates.
