Orig. published in 1909, this is a later reprint c. early 1950s (listing to "Hidden Valley" on front DJ flap), which retains the original cover art, frontispiece, & internal illustrations, but not in their original color renderings; now in pen-and-ink. With brick-red publisher's cloth over boards, black lettering & design to spine, publisher's name in fancy, not plain, script, & a full-color front paper pastedown, in 261 pages. From a single owner collection, this hardcover book is in Fine condition: exceptionally bright & clean, binding straight & strong, both hinges secure. Slight pushing to both ends of spine & mild corner bumping. Pages creamy white, with light tanning. The "This Book Belongs To." page in front is blank, but old gift inscription in pen inside front cover dated 1953. The price-clipped DJ) was laminated by former owner, which has helped preserve it, but this cannot be removed!
