Translated from the Russian by G. Hanna and D. Myshne. A very detailed autobiography outlining Gagarin's childhood, education, training and career up to his pioneering Space flight on the 12th of April 1961.He obviously got on very well with Chief Designer Sergei Korolev and Premier Khruschev, who each called the other by hi Christian names. This book seems to have provided much of the background information for several others including Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin by Wilfred Burchett and Anthony Purdy 1961, Our Gagarin by Yaroslav Golovanov 1978 and Starman by Jamie Doran & Piers Bizony 1998.
