London: Browning Institute, 1945. 1st edition thus. Wraps. Very Good. Circa post 1945, first edition thus. Very Good. 12mo., 12 pp., with black & white illustrations. Bound in publishers blue stiff wraps. Wraps show minor soiling and wear, interior clean and unmarked, slight bump wrinkle to upper corner.

Believed to be an annual report mailed to patrons of The Robert Browning Settlement, a home for old age pensioners. Browning Hall, properly The Robert Browning Settlement, was a social settlement established in Walworth, London, in 1895, one of a number of such 'settlements' arising out of the settlement movement and the university extension movement. It provided a range of social services to the poor of its deprived area, and provided accommodation enabling relatively well-educated people to live amongst the people with whom they worked.
