Divided into three sections, each with an introductory essay: "Mapplethorpe's Vision" by Richard Marshall; "A Society Artist" by Ingrid Sischy; "The Mapplethorpe Effect" by Richard Howard. Illustrated with 111 full page photographs and several vignette images, mostly in black and white, though several are in color. End-matter includes list of photographs, list of selected exhibitions and selected bibliography. Second printing. No previous ownership marks. Small stamp on bottom edge of bulked sheets "as is". A clean, tight and otherwise unmarked copy, lacking dust-jacket. Very good. Media mail only. .
