Boston, Massachusetts: J. Fisher, 1850. Good. Toned, spotting, sunning. Later signature of Rachel A. Snyder to verso.. A charming piece of hand-colored job printing for children by the Boston printer James Fisher. Depicts Robin Hood in a dashing red jacket and hat against a rural background. James Fisher was an early American children's publisher who operated out of 71 Court Street between 1838 and 1860. Children's publishing did not become a fully fledged field in the industry until the latter half of the 19th century. Measures approx. 6.25" by 5.25". Hand colored.
