Inside back cover gutter has some glue line discoloration due to an acidic binding glue. Fabric split on a small portion of spine. No cracked boards, binding is tight. Printed cloth cover is still bright and clean. Very minimal wear, if any, on book edges. 16 halftone plates on 8 leaves, 29 text figures. Printed cloth with gilt-lettered label on cover. B&W Photographs; This book is in Very Good+ condition and was possibly issued without a dust jacket. The book and its contents are in mostly clean, bright condition. There is some light rubbing and one small tear to the cloth on the top spine end of the book cover. There is a repaired tear to the spine of the book cloth as well. The text pages are mostly clean and bright, but do have some beginning toning to the edges and the endpapers. The tissue guards on some of the illustrated plates are missing.
