Garden City, NY: Doubleday, Page & Co, 1926. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. 8vo., 289pp. Beautiful Limited Edition, #318 of only 365 copies published. Bound in 1/4 black cloth over black paper-covered boards covered with purple and yellow grape cluster illustrations. Titles in purple on white paper spine label. Illustrated with pen drawings by Walter Jack Duncan. A perfect example of a dust-jacket doing its job as this is square, tight and clean throughout with a hint of wear at the tips but otherwise about as fresh at when it sat on the bookseller's shelf almost 100 years ago. Remarkably well-preserved and likely unread as several page groupings are unopened. The very attractive unclipped, though unpriced, dust-jacket, is unadorned other than printed titles on the spine. A touch of edge-wear and toned spine panel but still bright with no creases or tears. Signed by Morley on the limitation page. A gorgeous collectable copy and though not scarce, quite uncommon in such high-grade condition and with dust-jacket.
