Seattle: The Mountaineers, 1966. 1st Edition 2nd Printing. Hardcover. Near Fine/No Jacket. 1966 Second Printing of the 1965 first edition. Original white/gray pictorial cloth covers with black lettering front and spine. The book is in nice condition with a couple of very minor marks outside edge of rear cover, old owner bookplate on short-title page otherwise no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, no foxing, tight binding. The three folding maps in the rear pocket are original and are in fine condition. The authors, geologists with the USGS, spent 20 summers studying and exploring the 600 square mile area covered in this book. Excellent, scarce guidebook. This book has become highly sought since it includes information on trails and routes that are not officially maintained, much of this information being intentionally omitted from modern guidebooks.The book measures 198mm tall x 138mm, and has 235 pages, 8 b/w photos, many sketches, several maps including the 3 folding topo maps in rear pocket, index. PHOTOS ARE OF THE ACTUAL BOOK BEING OFFERED.
