(Book- insc as above, no previous owner name, dust jacket - very slight rubbing to extremities but largely protected by a glascine wrap, slip case negligible sign of shelf wear. No notable defects).The ship which was the most expensive passenger ship built at that time was christened at Southampton by Diana Princess of Wales in November1984 and sailed for Miami on it's inaugural voyage. She was built for Princess Cruises by Wärtsilä at the Helsinki Shipyard, Finland, and was launched on 18 February 1984.At a ceremony in Southampton, England, on 15 November 1984, the ship was named Royal Princess by Diana, Princess of Wales. The ceremony was attended by members of the public, employees of the P&O Princess Group and local and international dignitaries including Mauno Koivisto, President of Finland.
