About This Item
No Place: Privately Printed, 1962. Book. Very Good. Stiff Card Wraps. First Edition.. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Written specifically to mark the regiment's centenary. The regiment was formed in 1862 in Quebec, with men from the Eastern Townships, Quebec City, Gaspé, and northern New Brunswick, and its operational history included action during the Fenian raids of 1866, the South African War, and both World Wars. Contains lists of former commanding officers, slate of officers in March of 1962, and honours and awards in Hong Kong, as well as a firsthand recollection by Rifleman John Beebe of the horrors experienced while fighting the Japanese. In 1966 the regiment was reduced to nil strength. 62 pages (including acknowledgement of assistance), illustrated. Moderate general wear. A scarce regimental history..
