London : William Mackenzie , 1882. First edition. Cloth. Good. 14.5" by 11". A. F. Lydon. A set of two volumes of images of ruined abbeys of Britain, with colour plates. A complete two volume set of The Ruined Abbeys of Britain by Frederick Ross. Some of the ruined abbeys that appear in these volumes are The Cistercian Abbey of Tintern The Augustinian Priory of Bolton and the Benedictine Abbey of Glastonbury. Illustrated with coloured plates and wood engravings from drawings by A. F. Lydon. With six colour plates to volume one and six to volume two and other illustrations throughout the text. Collated, complete. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some bumping to the extremities and head and tail of the spine and light marks to the boards. Front hinges are starting but remain firm. Internally, firmly bound with bright and generally clean pages with some scattered light spots to the second volume. Good
