Two volumes, 12 color wood engravings with tissue guards, numerous in text wood engravings, all edges gilt, viii+288pp, folio (14 1/2 x11 inches) gilt embossed pictorial cloth boards. Light wear and bumping to the corners and spine ends; wear to spine of volume II (one inch section affecting the gilt lettering "Britain by); very light scattered foxing to first pages at the beginning and end of each volume, two plates in volume II with light foxing but overall the plates are bright and clean. The plates are finely worked and colorful, showing a particularly atmospheric rendition of light. .
