Haggard was greatly involved in agricultural reform throughout the British Empire, and researched this work himself in 1901 and 1902. This exploration provides a fascinating look at the countryside of England at the turn of the century.Volume I illustrated with a frontispiece, thirteen folding maps, and thirty-one plates. Forty pages of adverts to the rear.Volume II illustrated with a frontispiece, ten folding maps, and twenty-three plates. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Spines are a little faded. Minor marks and rubbing to the boards. Very light bumping to the head and tail of the spines. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with some scattered spots. Prior owner's ink inscription to the head of the title page of Volume I. Very Good
