London: Robert Hardwicke, 1865 A good copy of the 1st edition in the original green decorative cloth binding with 16 plates by J E Sowerby, 13 of which are hand coloured. The binding is bright and clean. The spine is cocked to the front and there is some chipping to the top edge, and pulling to the bottom. Corners bumped. The original brown endpapers with printed adverts are present. There is a signature dated 1865 to the half title page. Contents in good/very good clean condition. The stitching is slightly wobbly and is visible at pp 48 and 64. Publisher's catalogue at the rear.
