Low level wear to spine and cover edges. Illustrated throughout with artwork by Earl Haber and staff of Durango Colorado. There is some evidence that there is a blank front endpaper missing as there is a one at the back. Beyond that is a tight book with flawless interior text pages and illustrations. This story is a combination of cowboy tales told around campfires many years ago. All names of persons and places have been changed. Each chapter begins and ends with an attractive western illustration. Contents in 26 Chapters: Jim Starr, Jim Starr, John Steele Starr, Miss May, The Spencers, Miss May, Miss May, Electing a New Sheriff, Miss May, Miss May, Official Protection, Snorkle Stone, Horse Thieves, Miss May, John Starr, Jim Starr, John Steele Starr, John Steele Starr, John Steele Starr, A Decision is Made, The Dance Dance, Mayor Robert M. Nevins, and The Truth Is Known. Each of the chapters is a stand-alone story.
