Lightly tanned textblock noticeably foxed and splotched on foredge and foot, else clean. Art-illustrated (no acks.) dustjacket price-clipped, and significantly edgeworn and creased, with jagged tears. Suspense and drama set in enemy-occupied France. Sergeant Fraser, son of a French father and Scots mother, is detached from his unit and under utmost secrecy is given a mission involving entry to the occupied area of his boyhood, the countryside surrounding Le Mans. A seething Nazi hotspot, M.I.5 believe his fluent local patois could be used to their advantage . . . 16 gripping chapters. Book weight approx. 350g.
