About This Item
New York & Toronto: Farrar & Rinehart Inc., 1943. Fourth printing. Hardcover. Very Good +/fair. 6 x 8 in. 294 pages. red cloth. 'Fourth large printing on dj front flap and 'War Edition' on copyright page. 1939 still on copyright page but I am guessing this war edition is about 1943. Printed on thinner paper than the 1939 1st printing so it is a muck thinner book, but contains all 294 ages of the original text and illustrations, does not include 'Rivers and American Folk' by Constance Lindsay Skinner, which was included in the 1st printing. Condition is VERY GOOD+ ; looks new on all points. Binding tight and text unmarked. Dust jacket is Fair, almost all there, but front cover and flap are detached from spine, rear cover, and rear flap' spine faded and worn with some tears, price-clipped. Stax.
