London: Longman, Rees, Orme, Brown, Green and Longman. 1832. 1st ed., octavo, original full leather boards, decorative border in gilt, gilt, decoration and raised bands on spine, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers, pp xvi, 520, i. Loss of half of spine title label, scape to upper board, some fraying top edge of spine. School presentation inscription verso of ffep. Very good condition. Sharon Turner (1768 - 1847) was an English historian. "The Sacred History of the World" was issued in three volumes in 1832: this is the first volume. "The work owed its popularity largely to the author's homiletic manner and devoutly orthodox attitude." (DNB). 1st Edition. Full leather.
