Hardcovers have green cloth-covered boards with gold spine lettering. Front covers have dark green lettering and dark green decorated panel with floral designs. Top page edges are gilt. Dark red coated endpapers. Black and white frontispiece, illustrations and plates; frontispiece has tissue guard. Bindings tight. Hinges NOT cracked. Covers have very light surface and edge wear, with minor rubbing to the corners. Small paper address label on bottom inner corner of front free endpaper of each. Smudge at top corner of front free endpaper of volume 1. Top gutter corner of rear endpaper on volume one is wrinkles and slightly pulled. Pages lightly and uniformly tanned but still supple. Pages clean and unmarked. 800 pages, continuous pagination. No dust jackets. "Edited, with Additional Notes by Estelle M. Hurll, and Abundantly Illustrated with Designs from Ancient and Modern Art". Volumes 1 and 2 of The Writings on Art of Anna Jameson, in Five Volumes. Carefully packed, shipped in a box.
