Vinton & Co Limited, 1111. Hardcover. Acceptable. New Edition. 422 pages. Quarter bound red leather with red cloth covered boards. Black and white illustrated frontispiece. Slight cracking to gutters causing binding to be loose, however pages remain attached. Pages have light tanning and foxing throughout. Pencil inscription and embossed stamp to front free endpaper. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Light tanning to spine and edges with tears, chipping to leather and areas of loss to spine. Wear marks overall.

London, England: Rogerson & Tuxford, 1862. Sold As Is -- Fair Minus condition. -- Red cloth boards with gilt decoration and lettering on front cover, gilt lettering on spine. Illustrated in b&w. -- Covers badly discolored in patches, with an overall somewhat mottled appearance -- rubbed, dulled and darkened; spine head worn with 1/2" closed tear. Signature from title page to page 2 of text is loose and laid in whole (holding together but loosening) -- inner hinge badly cracked there. Page block edges darkened/soiled. Small tear in paper at rear inner hinge. Large dampstain to plates between pages 262 and 263. Some other discolorations scattered inside, like at title page and frontispiece, also foxing in back matter. -- Overall in Fair Minus condition. 398 pp.. Hardcover. Fair Minus/No Dust Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.

London: Vinton & Co. Reprint. Hardcover book bound in the publisher's original red leather. 19 cm. 476 pages. Contains an illustrated frontispiece and one full-page engraved interior illustration of horses. In fair condition. Bookplate (Franklin Jones Willock) affixed to the front fixed end page. Light offsetting/spotting/staining to the front/back matter. Hinges tight. Entire spine panel missing.
