B&W plates. Salgado's documentary project covering the drought and famine in the Sahel region, in 1984 and 1985. Working for Médecins sans Frontières, the photos were taken in Chad, Ethiopia, Mali, and Sudan. His first book as author, after two earlier catalogues. Cover edges lightly rubbed to cover edges, a pressure mark to rear cover, a couple of finger smudges to tp.
