Being a practical exposition of the theory of the law of storms, and its uses to mariners of all classes... shewn by transparent storm cards and useful lessons. Second, expanded, edition of an important book that gave mariners a theoretical basis for understanding and avoiding storms at sea. His observations were made mostly in the waters around India and China, and he coined the term cyclone to describe a storm off Mauritius. This copy shows moderate cover wear, but contains the two transparent screens used in predicting the movement of storms. Scattered foxing. Still a good copy.
