About This Item

Original etching; 183 x 132mm (image); sheet: 280 x 185mm. A good impression on laid paper; from the edition published in the Gazette des Beaux-Arts, Paris, 1911. - The print is mounted at the top only in a paper portfolio, in fine condition. - Katharine Kimball, an American artist born in New Hampshire, lived and worked mostly in Europe. She was a member of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers, London, and was also known for her architectural pen and ink drawings. Etchings by Kimball do not appear regularly on the market, and this is a very fine one. It would otherwise not have been published in the reputed Gazette.
