About This Item
Very Good. 1885. Map. Two extracted color map sheets of pages 119-124 from "The Official State Atlas of Nebraska", published in 1885 by Everts & Kirk. The pages have very light soil and light edge toning. Image is slightly cropped due to scanner size. One sheet is folded to make four pages, with a centerfold full-sheet map of Cherry County, 17 1/2" x 28" with Saline County and a full-page town plat of its largest town Crete on the verso. The other sheet is two pages, with towns of Valentine, Fort Niobara, O'Fallon's, and Mcpherson on one one side and part of Pawnee county on the verso. Fort Niobara army post buildings are labeled with a key, and railroads are shown on the maps. The detailed atlas was the only Nebraska atlas published in the nineteenth century, and the maps are not common. Phillips 461. ; 17 1/2" x 14" .
