Portfolio (approx 67cm h.) in original brown cloth covered folding box with simulated argillite insert on front, minor signs of rubbing, wooden edges. Very small tear to the head of the spine of box, slightly sunned. Silver paper covered card slipcase, some occasional rubbing and marking to slipcase. Contains: Hardcover book titled 'The Salmon', boards covered with brown cloth matching the box, printed label depicting illustration of a Haida salmon by Bill Reid on the front board, gilt letters on a red label glued to the spine, all edges trimmed, red endpapers, internally clean. / 4 leaves of text, unbound, in great condition. / 4 print folios in original paper folders. Very good condition. Contains:</p><p>1. Hardcover book titled "The Salmon" including numerous full and half page photographic plates.</p><p>2. "The Salmon; Canada's Plea For A Threatened Species": 8 pp. text with illustrations. Unbound.</p><p>3. "The Legacy": illustrated 8 pp. text + 5 plates by Bill Reid. Drawings and Research by Hilary Stewart in dark gray folder. </p><p>4. "The Atlantic": five colour prints of Atlantic salmon in red folder.</p><p>5. "The Cycle": six colour prints of salmon in gray folder.</p><p>6. "The Pacific": five colour prints of Pacific salmon in blue folder.</p><p></p><p>Cave A 185 (a). A fantastic, large format collaboration between famous native Canadian artist Bill Reid, renowned fishing author Roderick Haig-Brown, and Environment Canada.
