Page edges are slightly uneven, top pages have faded colouring. Features engravings of fish, fishing and scenery throughout. Some pages have neat pencil markings and notes. "This book follows the days Sir Humphry spent fly fishing and his many notes on the subject when he was not capable of spending his time on "more serious pursuits" due to his poor health. Following his lonely days through conversations between him and imaginary characters, on the philosophies of an angler." Classic and Collectible. Fourth Edition 1851. Buckram. Exterior shows mild soiling and scuffing along with corner bumps, creases and wear. Pages are toned due to age and scattered foxing is present though mainly limited to the end pages. No signatures or bookplates present. No hinge cracks are present boards but a couple areas show very minor pulling (example pages 194/195). Stated fifth edition on the copyright page.
