San Francisco: The Adobe Press, 1935 One of 200 copies privately printed for Charles R. Boden by the Grabhorn Press. Foreword by Harry Leon Wilson. Thin octavo. viii, 24pp. Original engraved frontispiece. Printed in blue and black. Handset Lutetia type. Blue boards, blue labels printed and decorated in gold on spine and front cover. Spine slightly faded, very slight chipping to spine label, else a very fine copy. The full-page frontispiece, "San Francisco in 1849," is from a proof pulled from the original plate engraved by W. L. Ormsby about 1870 after the painting by G.W. Casilear. This copy includes a presentation inscription, signed by the author to Harry F. Fortmann, President of the Alaska Packers Association and Bohemian Club member: "To Harry F. Fortmann. Sir: One privileged to be among those chosen for the Winter Camp at Bohemian Grove affectionately salutes you, Edward F. O'Day, Feb. 20, 1936." [Grabhorn: 236]. .

About Argonaut Book Shop

The Argonaut Book Shop was founded in 1941 in the middle of the financial district of San Francisco. The Argonaut was a founding member of the Antiquarian Booksellers\' Association of America and has been a member in good standing ever since. The Shop is now located just three blocks from Union Square in downtown San Francisco and is open six days a week. Parking facilities include ample street space and a parking garage close by.
