Acceptable. 0x0x0. 1867 printing (c. 1862); 600 p., clean with occasional markings in upper margin--owner's name on end pages; pencilled notations on paste downs and end pages; front gutter cracked as well as between pp. 408 and 409 but volume is square and text block intact; bound in black half letter with gilt lettering and repousse ornamentation on spine; corners bumped and there is rubbing at crown and foot of spine, with front edge beginning to tear, consideration abrasion at top edge of back board; marbled edges fading. With skillful repair and partial rebinding this would be a very elegant volume.
